Term 3 2020
Term 3 will run from Tuesday 13th July April until Saturday 19th September with a range of classes from Beginners to Advanced, as well as Tribal style and Folklore classes.
Due to the current Covid-19 situation all classes will be ONLINE at a reduced rate until such time as normal classes can be resumed.
An email link will be sent you to join the classes (See below in payments)
We realise that this is a difficult and different time and ask for your patience as we sort out any bugs in the system. Also the structure of classes may be slightly different due the change in teaching situation. We will do our best at Bellydance Kizmet to be supportive to those who are struggling.
We are offering occasional Short Courses or Technique clinics at this stage, so keep an eye open for notifications and dates. Currently we are offering an Oriental Short Course, 4 weeks to learn an Oriental dance, part of the “Every dancer should have this in their repertoire” series.
See the Term 3 2020 timetable below for full details.
What Style Do We Teach?
In the beginning all classes learn a general form of Egyptian dance, with a focus on technique and applying them in a choreography. At the higher levels we begin the Egyptian style which has a strong abdominal focus, with more intricate moves and combinations. Choreography plays a greater role in the class structure. All classes will learn to use a variety of props – veils, canes, and zills (finger cymbals). Other props such as isis wings, fan veils and sword may be taught if the class wishes.
Specialist classes in American Tribal style and many of the Folklore styles from the Middle East are also offered.
What should I wear to class?
Leotard or fitting top with leggings / gympants.
Footwear is optional – bare-feet, jiffies or flat dance shoes or are preferred.
Whatever you wear, ensure you feel comfortable.
For the online sessions, please ensure you have a clear space to dance in with no tripping hazards around you, as well as an easy line of sight to your computer/ipad or online device.
For class descriptions please see our class timetable. Classes for term 3 start on Tuesday 13th July 2020.
